How’s it going? Are the kids in bed yet? I hope so - you need a break!

Thing is, I’m a mum but I was also a teacher for around 20 years. I manage my own kids just the same way I managed kids in the classroom.
And so while we still have occasional meltdowns and Very Bad Days here at Stroud Central, I’m almost always feeling cool, calm and collected when it comes to parenting my kids, managing their behaviour and enjoying my relationship with them. I’m fumbling through life on so many other fronts - I don’t know how to apply makeup very well, I struggle to remember where I parked my car and I’m aspirational (at best) when it comes to meal planning… but I’m a GREAT parent. I know I am. Because unlike makeup and meal planning, when I’m parenting, I know what I’m doing. I rely on my teacher skill-set.
